Privacy Policy – Leagues 4 Friends

Effective date: 2026-10-02

Leagues 4 Friends (“the App”) is operated by SeljeSoft, a trade name of Seljenes Konsult (sole proprietorship, organisation number 930 629 499, Norway) (“we”, “us”, “our”), which is the data controller for the processing described here. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • League data you enter: league names, team and player names, match schedules, match results, goal scorers, and related settings.
  • Support communications: if you contact us, we receive the information you send (such as your email address and message content).

1.2 Local storage by default

Your leagues, teams, players and results are stored locally on your device by default. We do not have access to this data unless you choose to share a league (see 1.4).

1.3 Optional account sign-in (if you choose to sign in)

The App offers optional Google Sign-In using Firebase Authentication. If you choose to sign in, we process:

  • A user ID
  • Your email address
  • Your display name (if available)

1.4 Shared leagues / cloud sharing

If you use the shared leagues feature, the App uploads a league snapshot to Firebase Firestore in order to generate and manage share codes and allow syncing/import of the shared league.

This shared league snapshot can include the league name, teams, player names, matches, results, goal scorers, padel and pickleball rounds, and golf scorecards (i.e., the content you entered). Anyone with the share code can see it.

1.5 Usage limits / quota

If you are signed in, the App stores a small usage counter in Firebase Firestore (for example, the number of active leagues) to manage limits and entitlements.

1.6 Crash and diagnostics information

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostics to improve stability and performance. This may include app version, device model, operating system version, time of crash, and crash stack traces, and a technical ID of the last ad shown, so that faulty ads can be reported to Google.

1.7 Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)

To understand which sports and formats are used, so we know what to improve, the App uses Google Firebase Analytics. The App sends anonymous usage events, for example that a league was created, a schedule was generated, a league was completed, a golf round was started or dice were rolled. These events only include the sport, the format and simple counts (such as the number of teams, players or holes). We never send names of leagues, teams or players, results, or any other content you type in.

Firebase Analytics also collects some information automatically, such as an app instance ID (a random identifier for this installation of the App), device model, operating system and App version, country or region (derived from your IP address), and basic events such as when the App is opened.

The App does not use your Advertising ID for analytics, and analytics data is not used for advertising or shared with advertisers. If you are in the EEA (including Norway), the UK or Switzerland, analytics only runs if you have given consent in the consent form. You can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy choices.

1.8 Advertising

The App is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited). Ads are shown as full-screen ads at natural breaks, for example after you have entered several match results. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process:

  • Device identifiers, such as your device’s Advertising ID and app set ID
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Device and app information (for example device model, operating system, language, app version)
  • Ad interactions (for example which ads were shown and whether they were tapped)
  • Diagnostics and performance data related to ads

This data is used for showing ads, measuring ad performance, limiting how often ads are shown, and preventing fraud. Depending on your choices, ads may be personalized (based on your interests) or non-personalized (based on general context such as approximate location). Non-personalized ads may still use identifiers for frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting.

1.9 Consent for ads (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

If you are in the European Economic Area (including Norway), the UK or Switzerland, the App asks for your consent before ads use your data, using Google’s consent tool (User Messaging Platform). You can accept, reject, or choose individual purposes and ad partners. You can change your choice at any time in the App under Settings → Privacy choices.

You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy → Ads depending on your device).

1.10 Pro (ad-free)

If you purchase Pro, the App shows no ads, and the App does not load the AdMob advertising features for your use of the App.

1.11 Sponsor banners

The App may show small sponsor banners that link to websites operated by us or our partners. These banners are part of the App itself; no personal data is shared with sponsors when they are shown. To see which banners are useful, the App counts how often each banner is shown and tapped as part of the anonymous usage statistics described in 1.7 (only with your consent where consent is required). If you tap a banner, the website opens in your browser with a tag in the link showing that the visit came from the App (no personal data is included in the link), and that website’s own privacy policy applies.

1.12 Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive your full payment card details. Google may provide us with purchase status and identifiers needed to confirm entitlement (for example, whether Pro has been purchased or a tip has been given).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide app functionality: create and manage leagues and display results.
  • Enable shared leagues: publish league snapshots, generate share codes, and sync/import shared leagues.
  • Manage limits and entitlements: apply limits and Pro entitlements where relevant.
  • Show ads: keep the App free by showing ads through Google AdMob, according to your consent choices.
  • Understand usage: see which sports and formats are used, using anonymous statistics from Firebase Analytics.
  • Improve reliability: analyze crashes and fix bugs using Crashlytics.
  • Support: respond to your requests if you contact us.

3. Legal Basis (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

  • Performance of a contract: providing the App’s features you use, sign-in, shared leagues and purchases.
  • Consent: personalized advertising, storing/accessing information on your device for ads, and usage statistics (Firebase Analytics). You can withdraw consent at any time under Settings → Privacy choices.
  • Legitimate interests: crash reporting, preventing fraud and abuse, and non-personalized ads to keep the App free. You can object where applicable in the consent settings.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google LLC): optional sign-in.
  • Firebase Firestore (Google LLC): shared leagues and usage counters.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC): crash reporting and diagnostics.
  • Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): anonymous usage statistics.
  • Google AdMob (Google LLC): advertising.
  • Google User Messaging Platform (Google LLC): collecting and storing your ad consent choices.
  • Google Play Billing (Google LLC): in-app purchases.

These services process information as described in their own documentation. See: Google Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage, Transfers, Retention, and Security

5.1 Storage and international transfers

  • Local league data: stored on your device.
  • Shared league data, counters, crash reports, usage statistics and advertising data: processed by Google services, which may involve transfers to and processing in countries outside the EEA, including the United States. Google relies on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

5.2 Retention

  • Local league data: remains until you delete it or uninstall the App.
  • Shared league snapshots / share codes: retained as long as needed to provide the sharing feature, or until deleted.
  • Crash reports: retained for a limited period to support debugging and stability improvements.
  • Usage statistics: event data and user-level data (such as the app instance ID) are kept in Firebase Analytics for 2 months and then deleted; only aggregated reports (totals, without individual users) are kept longer.
  • Advertising data: retained by Google according to Google’s own retention policies.
  • Consent choices: stored on your device until you change them or uninstall the App.

5.3 Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information. Data sent between the App and Google services is encrypted in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Deletion & Your Rights

If you signed in, you can delete your account and associated cloud data in the App under Settings → Delete account. You can also request deletion of cloud-stored data associated with your account (for example shared leagues) by contacting us at seljesoft@seljenes.no. See Delete your account and data for step-by-step instructions.

If you signed in with Google, you can also remove the App’s access from your Google Account settings.

If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at seljesoft@seljenes.no. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Norway this is Datatilsynet.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is not directed at children and is not designed to serve ads to children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
